Open Roles
You don't need the most experience, you need the most initiative.
TWN is bootstrapped. No safety net, no investor leash. We're building infrastructure, MSP tooling, and security systems that should shift how IT is delivered and owned, not just add more noise to an already bloated industry.
We're not here to count years. We're here to see if you move with intent, make calls without waiting for permission, and own the outcome fully, whatever that outcome is.
Behaviours That Matter Here
- •You document clearly so nobody has to reverse-engineer your brain.
- •You look for ways to automate instead of accepting friction as “just how it is.”
- •You speak like a human to both engineers and clients, no jargon walls, no hiding behind acronyms.
- •You expect your work to be questioned, and you question others without hesitation or political theatre.
When something breaks, you’re not filing a ticket into a black hole or waiting three months for a vendor patch while Microsoft emails you a satisfaction survey. You go straight to the person who built it and ask, deadpan, “why, oh why, did you make it this way?” Then you fix it together and harden the system. No egos. No vendor middlemen. No escalation layers built to diffuse responsibility.
If you're tired of watching MSPs and vendors dance around responsibility, playing escalation bingo while clients suffer, you're not alone. We’re done with that fear-driven culture where nobody wants to own a decision because it might come back to them. We don’t hide behind ticket numbers, SLAs or vendor disclaimers. We own outcomes and we optimise for what’s actually best for the people who depend on the systems.
If this hit something in you, that gut-pull to move, good. That’s the signal. You're already one of us. Don’t wait for permission to belong.
Infrastructure Engineer
Infrastructure engineer types that own the outcome, research, design and build/setup solutions (custom code if needed). You'll work with Docker, Kubernetes, IaC tools, and observability stacks to build self-hosting infrastructure that reduces friction.
Requirements
- •Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)
- •Observability tools experience: Grafana, monitoring, logging, alerting systems
- •Network infrastructure understanding (CCNA level knowledge preferred)
- •Personal projects: self-hosting, documented projects, infrastructure automation
- •Learning platforms: HackTheBox, TryHackMe, or similar hands-on security training
Responsibilities
- •Design and implement container orchestration and infrastructure automation
- •Build monitoring and observability solutions with Grafana and related tools
- •Research and implement security-first infrastructure patterns
- •Document infrastructure decisions and maintain runbooks
- •Own outcomes from design through deployment and maintenance
DevSecOps Engineer
Security-focused infrastructure engineer who embeds security practices into development and operations workflows. You'll implement Chainguard security tools, build secure CI/CD pipelines, and ensure infrastructure hardening.
Requirements
- •DevSecOps training and certification preferred
- •Experience with Chainguard, container security, supply chain security
- •CI/CD pipeline security implementation (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
- •SOC1 compliance experience or willingness to obtain certification
- •Infrastructure security: network segmentation, secrets management, access controls
Responsibilities
- •Implement security scanning and compliance in CI/CD pipelines
- •Deploy and maintain Chainguard security tools and container scanning
- •Design secure infrastructure patterns and security policies
- •Conduct security reviews of infrastructure and application deployments
- •Maintain security documentation and incident response procedures
Infrastructure Automation Engineer
Build automation tools and infrastructure that enable self-hosting and reduce operational friction. You'll work with DCIM tools like Netbox, infrastructure automation, and custom tooling development.
Requirements
- •Infrastructure as Code expertise: Terraform, Ansible, cloud-init, configuration management
- •DCIM experience with Netbox or similar tools for infrastructure management
- •ICT40120 certification or equivalent infrastructure/networking qualifications
- •Custom automation development: Python, Go, or similar for infrastructure tooling
- •Documentation-first approach: clear technical writing and knowledge sharing
Responsibilities
- •Develop infrastructure automation tools and templates for self-hosting
- •Implement and maintain DCIM solutions using Netbox for infrastructure tracking
- •Build custom tooling to reduce manual operations and improve reliability
- •Create infrastructure templates and documentation for common patterns
- •Design infrastructure solutions that scale from single servers to enterprise deployments
