Requirements
- •3+ years of software development experience
- •Strong proficiency in modern programming languages (Python, TypeScript, Go)
- •Experience with distributed systems and cloud platforms
- •Understanding of software architecture patterns
- •Comfort working in public repos and contributing back to open source
Responsibilities
- •Design and implement maintainable services with clear interfaces
- •Collaborate with researchers and designers to test ideas with real people
- •Ship thoughtful APIs and interfaces with documentation alongside code
- •Contribute to architecture decisions with evidence and calm debate
- •Mentor teammates, review code, and improve shared runbooks
AI/ML Engineer
Design and maintain machine learning systems that extend human decision-making without replacing it. You'll balance experimentation with responsible rollout and clear guardrails.
Requirements
- •5+ years of ML/AI experience in production environments
- •Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms and frameworks
- •Experience working with language models or similar reasoning systems
- •Proficiency in MLOps and model deployment
- •Strong background in Python and ML libraries (PyTorch, TensorFlow)
Responsibilities
- •Design and train machine learning models for production use with clear evaluation notes
- •Implement agent collaboration patterns only when they improve user outcomes
- •Monitor model performance, bias, and drift, and document findings
- •Prototype responsibly, including sunset plans for experiments
- •Work with product and delivery teams so AI features stay understandable
Research Scientist
Lead applied research that keeps humans in charge of complex systems. You'll explore new approaches, test them with partners, and publish what we learn in accessible language.
Requirements
- •PhD in Computer Science, AI, Cognitive Science, or related field
- •Track record of publications, open reports, or public talks
- •Deep expertise in AI, HCI, or adjacent human systems
- •Experience translating research into practical applications
- •Strong analytical and communication skills, including plain-language writing
Responsibilities
- •Lead research initiatives focused on human agency and responsible automation
- •Publish findings openly and share summaries that non-experts can use
- •Collaborate with engineering teams on research implementation
- •Guide product direction through research insights and evidence
- •Represent TWN in community forums, conferences, and local gatherings
